Silver's Spotlight with Seneca Valley's Senior Guard, Gracie Cato.
We are excited to tip-off our player spotlights with a player who we believe is one of the top competitors in Western, PA. Gracie Cato is a CJ2K League vet, playing in the league for 3 straight years and especially dominating this past Summer. Cato averaged double digits for the Lady Showtime in 2024, while also averaging a handful of steals and rebounds. The transition from the regular season to playoffs did not change a thing, as Cato went on to earn Finals MVP in Lady Showtime's second franchise "World Championship".
Cato has had an awesome senior campaign at Seneca Valley, averaging 15.5ppg as one of the WPIAL's leading scorers. Her individual success has helped to bring a lot of team success, as the Lady Raiders are 6-0 in the section!
In addition to her impressive senior campaign, Gracie has been a four-year letter winner in 6A and last year earned an honorable mention in the Big 56 Conference.
We asked Gracie Cato a few questions to highlight her basketball career thus far.
What your senior season has meant to you and what are your team and personal goals?
"I would like to see our team win our section. This season has taught me a lot about leadership and has been one of my favorite seasons."
What are your current plans after graduation?
"I plan to further my education and basketball career in college. I have received a few offers and I am hoping to make a decision soon."
Why have you played several years in the CJ2K?
"I have played with CJ2K since freshman year. I love the atmosphere of the freestyle outdoor play. I enjoy the competitive but friendly nature and playing for Coach Taylor!"
The CJ2K League family continues to wish Gracie Cato GOOD LUCK as she prepares to dominate the second half of section play on the path to section champs!
