This week's Silver's Spotlight highlights Claudia Ierullo.

With WPIAL playoffs en route, our player spotlight continues to showcase a player who we believe is one of the top competitors in Western, PA! Claudia Ierullo was a no-brainer as she continues to propel OLSH steps closer to the WPIAL Championship!
Ierullo is leading the way for the OLSH, averaging 16ppg, 5rpg, 4apg, and 4spg. These impressive statistics have played a large part in OLSH's undefeated section championship (14-0).
Claudia has been nothing short of amazing in OLSH's WPIAL playoff battles, including scoring 22pts in a win against an impressive #6 Avonworth team. That win on Wednesday advances #3 OLSH to the WPIAL 3A semi-finals against #2 Greensburg Central Catholic on Saturday, February 22nd at 12pm. Though OLSH had lost earlier this season 40-30 at a neutral site, Ierullo believes in her squad.
Ierullo also shines brightly in the CJ2K League, picking up a World Championship and DPOY honor in 2024. Claudia was not only an defensive threat averaging about 5 steals per game, but also held steady in scoring on a well balanced Showtime team.
We asked Claudia a few questions to highlight her basketball career thus far.
What your senior season has meant to you and what are your personal and team goals?
"My senior season is special to me because all the work I put in during the offseason is coming to light. My coach Don Eckerle has put a lot of trust in me this season which helps me play with full confidence. Being a senior means I try to play every game like it’s my last and be the best version of myself to help my team win. My team’s success is a priority and playing selfless has always been apart of my game. My goal is making it to the WPIAL championship and leaving everything I have on the court after each game."
What are your current plans after graduation?
"My plan for after highschool is playing basketball at Division II Slippery Rock University."
Why have you played several years in the CJ2K?
"I have played CJ2K since my freshman year of highschool and I believe it has truly helped improve my game. It’s a very fun and competitive atmosphere and helps you keep playing during the offseason. I played for the Lady Showtime last year and won the South and World Championship, and also won the Defensive Player of the Year award. If you are on the fence about playing my advice would be to play and see what the hype is all about!
I also would recommend training with Taylor (Breakout Basketball). I would not be the player I am today without it and having someone push you is essential to reaching your full potential."
The CJ2K League family continues to wish Claudia Ierullo the best of luck as she continues her path to the PETE!
Thank you, Claudia! Go get the WPIAL title!
