"Silver's Spotlight" : Annsley Baker

As we inch closer to WPIAL playoffs, our player spotlight continues to showcase a player who we believe is one of the top competitors in Western, PA! Annsley Baker is the winner this week as she continues to dominate with a WPIAL championship in mind!

Baker is leading the way for the Beaver Bobcats, averaging 22ppg, 7rpg, and 2.8spg. She has collected several accolades including Beaver County Player of the Week, Max Preps Player of the Week, YSN Play of the Week, and more.

In Section 2 of 4A, she has played a large part in a 9-2 section record, clinching the #2 in the section. The Bobcats prepare to take on Hampton tonight at home for a chance to finish 10-2, with their only section losses coming from Blackhawk.

Annsley has also found success in the CJ2K League. Last Summer, she earned North Offensive Player of the Year, leading the North in scoring for multiple weeks. Long story short, Annsley can score the rock at any given place or time!

We asked Annsley Baker a few questions to highlight her basketball career thus far.

What your sophomore season has meant to you and what are your personal goals?

"A team goal would be to improve from last year and make a run in the playoffs. Some of my individual goals are to hit 1,000pts, named all-section, and to have a successful recruitment process."

What are your current plans after graduation?

"I want to attend college and play basketball at the next level. I have talked to a few colleges from around the area, but I'm only a sophomore, so no official talks, yet."

Why have you played several years in the CJ2K?

"It is a fun experience and I love the competition you get to play against."
